The Senior Director, Design & Engineering - Field Application Engineer will be based in Santa Clara, USA.

General Purpose:

  • Field Application Engineer (FAE) Director manages all activities and is a point leader for the FAE Team. The duties include being an acknowledge leader in the daily FAE activities listed below along with the management activities as follow.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Manage activities and ensure the team is functioning at a high level (Strategy, Account Coverage, Business Unit Coverage, Flex VI Support)
  • Understand factory capabilities and work with leadership to determine roadmap and other technical strategies
  • Support production development work within the individual team member in both FAE and ITC Groups
  • Develop business strategies to support growing activities and requirements from customers
  • Organize team activities and PMO for corporate goal strategies
  • Organize team activities, meeting and conference calls
  • Work with Multek Leadership on developing agendas and activate to best utilize the time
  • Review over teams training and assess requirements for advancement of each team member
  • Facilitate needed resources for team, presentations, collateral and other support documents
  • Provide support for team members needing leadership guidance.
  • Review over staffing and account strategy with management
  • Make final staffing decisions regarding hire and termination as needed
  • Manage projects for both team and individual activities
  • Review and approve budget minded activities, such as expenses and travel
  • Develop strategies and tools to optimize the team's effectiveness
  • Work with management teams to optimize customer experience
  • Be a good communicator and able to function at a high level in presentations and customer meetings
  • Deal with staff needs, both technical and personal
  • Be a key Sales support for new account development and high level meetings with Customers
  • Must be able to work cross laterally within business segments as a technical leader

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

  • A BA/BS degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or 10 years of equivalent industry experience is required. A focus on electrical engineering, materials engineering, or mechanical engineering is a plus
  • Must be a technically competent leader, understanding the factory capabilities and production requirement for PCB, FPC and RFPC.
  • Must be a working member of the team supporting strategic Key and Developing accounts for Multek
  • A minimum of 5-10 years related of rigid and rigid-flex PCB manufacturing experience.
  • Specific experience in key market segments, such as Consumer Electronics, MCM, RF Applications, Infrastructure, Automotive and Industrial segments.
  • Must understand the technology requirements, quality and reliability standards and product qualifications procedures.
  • Proven in-depth understanding of product design and PCB stack-up solutions.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • This position requires domestic and international travel which may be up to 40% during specific project stages time.
  • Must be able to speak and write English well, with bilingual skills being a plus.
  • Experience in key business segment with a good understanding of the all requirements. Understanding of complex HDI, High Layer Count Rigid PCB design and build processes. Experience in high reliability products and factory certification/quality management systems a definite plus.
  • Experience in Flex and Rigid/Flex PCB manufacturing, with relationship to the mechanical and manufacturing process.
  • Experience in developing the high performance PCB solutions for known product developments with commercial success a strong plus.
  • Certification in quality systems, project management, and statistical process control desirable for this environment.
